Churches in Shaw and Crompton Parish

Holy Trinity Shaw

Church Road Shaw

Holy Trinity is a friendly and active church community offering a welcome to all. We are the Church of England parish church of Shaw and, as such, are always happy to offer weddings, baptisms and funerals to everyone resident in our parish or who has a connection with our church.

Our Vision
Rooted in the love of God for all people, we seek to be a church which:
~ is a safe space in which all are welcomed, valued, given a voice and are able to belong regardless of their age, gender, mental health,
   physical ability, race, sexuality or economic power;
~ draws people deeper into relationship with God through worship, prayer and teaching;
~ is a Christ-like presence in our community and wider-world, sharing God's love through our actions as well as our words.

Our Parish Mass takes place each Sunday at 11am. Most weeks, our Sunday School meets in the church hall and all children are welcome there. They join us in church for the second part of the service and, once a month, we all worship together in church for the whole time. After the Sunday service each week, we gather in the church hall for refreshments and a time to chat with one another.

We also have a Mass on Mondays at 7pm which is particularly aimed at children and families, although everyone is welcome. On Fridays at 10am we have a short and quiet said Mass in the Lady Chapel, which is followed by tea and toast in the church hall.

You can find out more about us on the other pages of this site or on our website holytrinityshaw.co.uk.

Any general enquiries should be directed to the Vicar, Mthr Katy, in the first instance.  You can contact her on 07548 295229 or email [email protected].

St James

East Crompton
01706847940
http://www.ecsj.org.uk

We are people who meet on Sunday mornings (and other times) across two Church buildings, St. James on St. James Street and St. Saviours on Buckstones Road.

Everyone is welcome. Keeping people safe is important to us. Our buildings and policies are regularly reviewed.

Getting to know Jesus is important to us. We believe that knowing him can help make sense of our own lives and the world around us.

Worship is important to us. Our services are based around the Eucharist (Holy Communion) because we believe that Jesus is present in a special way during this time.

Junior Church meets at both churches during the services at 10.30am (St. James) and 9.30am (St. Saviours). Children are welcome to receive the bread and wine once they complete the 'Communion before Confirmation' Course that is run annually.

The local community is important to us. We try and work with the local community as much as possible. St. James Church has a Parish Hall which can be hired. St. James and St. Saviours Church buildings can be used for community meetings.

Children's education is important to us. We have links with two CofE Primary Schools, East Crompton St. James and East Crompton St. Georges. We also have the Child Care Village which works with pre-school children including nursery provision.
